Olympic Weightlifting
Involved in the sport of Olympic Weightlifting for over 40 years and still competing today. Represented TeamGB and Team England as both athlete and coach. Winner of many national, British and world masters titles and records.
Weightlifting, also called Olympic-style weightlifting, is an athletic discipline where the athlete must attempt to lift the maximum amount of weight they can from ground to overhead. The two competition lifts and they are the snatch and the clean and jerk. In comparison with other strength sports, which test strength (with or without lifting aids), Weightlifting tests aspects of explosive strength; the lifts are therefore executed faster—and with more mobility and a greater range of motion during their execution—than other strength movements. Properly executed, the snatch and the clean and jerk are both dynamic and explosive while appearing graceful.

Urban Movement
Magnus started his movement career 10 years ago with the most extreme style of street dancing: Bboying (Breakdancing). Since then he has competed in Canada, America, and Europe and is an established member of the Now Or Never crew, one of Canada’s top Bboy crews. 5 years of teaching under his belt, he’s currently employed at 6 different facilities around the lower mainland teaching both youth and adults. Magnus's love for movement has grown through the exploration and training in different styles of dance and movement. This has inspired him to drop all style "restrictions" to create this all-around "Urban Movement Class".
Urban Movement is a style of movement that focuses on taking aspects from certain styles such as Freestyle, Bboying, Acrobatics and Hip Hop, ultimately focusing on moving in an unorthodox or constrained way.
In this class, our primary goal is to open the body to all ranges of movement. We build off of Street and Urban dance basics by weaving together movements such as grooves, bounces and freestyle.
This class is open to ALL levels.
